According to the Argentine News Agency, the largest decreases were concentrated in the vegetable category and some specific dairy and hygiene products. Which products recorded the largest price drops? The price dynamics in December allowed five essential items to end the month with values lower than in November, with a notable sharp drop in the price of tomatoes standing out. Round tomatoes: their price fell sharply by 33.7%, closing at ARS 1,460.00 per kilogram. Onion: it recorded a 3.0% decrease with a price of ARS 1,010.45 per kilogram. Cooked ham: it fell by 2.5%, settling at ARS 17,252.74 per kilogram. Potato: it experienced a 1.1% decrease and was sold at ARS 930.53 per kilogram. Butter: the 200-gram package fell by 0.6%, reaching ARS 3,804.08. What other basic basket items showed minimal variations? In addition to the decreases, another five products remained practically stable or with minimal increases, well below the average monthly inflation rate. Sardinian cheese: it recorded a marginal 0.1% decrease with a value of ARS 21,803.15 per kilogram. Still water: the 1.5-liter bottle rose by just 0.1%, costing ARS 1,515.92. Bleach: the 1,000 cc container increased by 0.2% and closed at ARS 1,287.11. Pategrás cheese: it experienced a 0.3% increase with a price of ARS 22,603.96 per kilogram.
